The Woman (& Story) Behind JACX, Inc.
My love for fashion and all things sparkly began early. Growing up in our Bronx apartment, I found joy in the way every wine glass and cut glass bowl sparkled under my touch. My mother’s jewelry box was my treasure chest, and my fashion icons were brands like Monet, Sarah Coventry, Napier, and Avon. I would meticulously shine every brooch and stone, which my grandmother affectionately called "poor man's diamonds."
At just 13, I started working in New York City summer programs, using my earnings to buy my fashion essentials. In the early 70s, Lee jeans and jackets were the trend, while sterling silver bangles, 14k gold name chains, bamboo earrings, and shrimp earrings were staples. My shoes were the finest leather, from Fred Braun, with their striped box and string packaging as iconic as today’s "Tiffany’s blue" boxes.
My love for unique fashion experiences continued at "Loehmann's," my go-to store before "Gilt." At 14, I bought my first coat—a vibrant orange wool swing coat—and personalized it with a brooch, a signature touch that has remained with me ever since.
The inspiration for the JACX came in 2015 when my daughter and I searched for a camel-colored, ankle-length cashmere coat in Beijing, China. After a successful bartering process, we encountered a small issue: the coat had thread-stringed belt loops, and one broke. This problem sparked an idea that I had been considering for a while—JACXLE was born!
JACXLE started with the vision to revolutionize fashion accessories. Our removable, metal, belt loops can be added to garments like blazers and coats, transforming their style and functionality. Explore our collection and see how a JACX can elevate your wardrobe.
